there is security camera footage out there. It's true, Costco is less subject to shoplifting losses than other stores, but these days, cameras are cheap, and if you just record for 24-48 hours, then dump the recording, its cheap to maintain such a surveillance operation.

If the dead man was actively trying to do harm to either the cop or his child when he took a bullet, the cop will probably not even be charged.
