I mean, Democrats had a history of prominent contenders having to drop out like rocks because of sexual themed faux pas, Gary Hart, John Edwards to name a couple. (and these were consensual affairs) And this was the Republican party, who were supposed to be the "family values" party, no less. Surely many of us thought, that there'd be at least a dampaning down of support in the evangelical Christian community. But no, they ended up his biggest supporters.

It did expose the utter hypocrisy of the "blue dress" Repubicans though. What I don't get is that even after this hypocrisy is revealed, the same narrative is dragged out....since the free love sixties 'liberals' are still framed as the out of control sex maniacs. Biden or Franken can have some friendly squeeze decades ago brought up as somehow being equal to, if not worse, than anything a Republican admits to doing.
