It doesn't matter if the government is Republican or Democrat. Latin Americans are always viewed as second-class citizens, their political decisions are disrespected, their internal affairs are meddled by whoever is in the White House.

As long as Democrats do not take solid steps to break with the imperalist foreign policy of the United States and their sense of ownership over Latin America, it doesn't matter that much if the American president is Republican or Democrat. Both parties have been a disgrace to Latin America.

And refusing to handle this and discuss this without hysteria, name-calling, childish behavior, authoritarian posture is part of the disconnection between Democrats and their base.
