(115,275 posts)27. That doesn't look like all private insurance is prohibited, just any that offers the same benefits
as the public MFA plan. So private insurance that covers anything that MFA doesn't cover would be allowed, just like the Medicare supplements you can buy now.

Even with Medicare as it exists now, you almost have to have a supplemental policy
