People are acting as if the relatively low key commemoration normally held in DC was somehow the centerpiece of July 4.

DC didn’t even exist in 1776, and Drumpf’s nonsense is just that.

Except for people in the area, when did anyone ever really give a shit what went on in DC on July 4?

Maybe living in the Philadelphia area has me biased, but that area of the Potomac was simply a swamp at the time.
