29. They don't have to impeach Trump.

They have to vote for Articles of Impeachment. Without it, they are going to have a tough time getting witnesses to talk. There isn't anything in the Constitution that says they have to impeach. Trump, The Supreme Court, and the Senate can not make the House vote on impeachment. They can have witnesses coming in every other day if they want until Jan 20, 2021. If they don't Trump is going to be reelected because the Democrats are going to look weak and the Democrats are going to lose the House. If they won't follow the law what good are they?

She needs to have many more House Dems supporting it. Right now she has 95. pnwmom Jul 2019 #1
Is the 95 number based on the planned impeachment vote of last week? Chemisse Jul 2019 #4
Yeah. But the last time there was a tally, for an impeachment inquiry, there were a dozen fewer. pnwmom Jul 2019 #5
Thanks. Yes there is that, along with Trump's backsliding on the 'send her back' rally cry. Chemisse Jul 2019 #7
Green's bill was actual articles of impeachment DeminPennswoods Jul 2019 #13
I can believe there are 100. Unfortunately, we need half the House -- 218 -- pnwmom Jul 2019 #15
I think the number will rise after Mueller testifies on Wed DeminPennswoods Jul 2019 #16
Currently 87 support starting an impeachment inquiry. BigmanPigman Jul 2019 #24
Right. But 95 just voted to impeach, and I'm assuming they would all also pnwmom Jul 2019 #25
I wondered about that last week. BigmanPigman Jul 2019 #28
That, and if it had a chance of conviction in the Senate still_one Jul 2019 #35
If she said she would back impeachment she would have more than enough votes. nt doc03 Jul 2019 #36
You don't know that. She has less than half of what she needs publicly supporting this now. n/t pnwmom Jul 2019 #37
You don't know that either nt doc03 Jul 2019 #38
