Kids move there because they have a great school district and literally one of the top 5 HS football programs in the country. Kyler Murray was the latest player of note to come out of the program.

I don't know where his family came from but those houses are new (less than 5 years old). Old Allen was known to be very much a red neck retreat, but that was decades ago. In this particular part of DFW Hispanics and unusually, South Asians flock to. Last 3 elections Collin County went from +30 red to BETO losing by just 20000 votes here.

Relatively speaking there is no crime and it is extremely peaceful and not noticeably racist ...

The shooter lived a posh life in a place that is pretty close to how we think of the American dream right, or left.
