Also, having been such an astute student in school he probably doesn't know what a mercator projection style map is and thinks Greenland, Iceland, etc are as big as they appear on most maps........He is looking at that vast huge piece of land and in reality it is like what he visions when he looks down at his own lap at his teenie tiny appendage. But, in his mind, "it" appears much larger, just like Greenland does to him......LOL His unusually small hands are a blessing in his case......"anything" he touches with them looks so much bigger in comparison.
