(1,942 posts)67. Congrats!
Our family dentist (and friend) of many years retired 3 years ago, because his back could not take it any more. He didn't have the digital radiograph equipment etc and I suspect, like you, did not want to spend his retirement funds to buy it at this late date.
He sold to a younger dentist who is fine, and some of the old staff is still there. But since it is 30 miles one way, and in SoCal traffic it can take an hour to get there, I'm hoping to find a new practice closer to home. I'm sure your loyal patients will miss you as we miss our friend. But I'm also glad he is still young enough and fit enough to enjoy the rest of his time here. I hope you can do the same! Cheers!

Congratulation PC, sounds as if you have made the right decision and as an old "friend" I am so

Sounds like a good plan. My dentist of many years just did basically the same thing.

Congratulations. Lots of physicians have made similar decisions in the last decade or so.

I was in your place a while back. Then all kinds of bad things happened to me dentally...

That's a very rational decision. At 66, I'm 61 myself, feeling financial secure is important.

Congratulations. That's what my dentist did a couple of years ago. She since decided to retire
