And think that this isn't required of all teachers, but perhaps a select cohort. I've had CPR training, because some kids can drop dead of a heart attack. Or teachers.

Or that this is one of those elective professional development trainings. I'm required to have 30 hours/year, and while my school and district provides some I can just as easily sign up for all sort of training that give continuing professional development training. Some of that includes first aid. Some isn't pretty.

(At the same time, some of it is pretty vapid.)

Tony Dokoupil tends to like being sensationalistic. I don't know that he'd give information that is true but would reduce the sensationalism of his report.
