(1,849 posts)Getting a concealed carry permit here has a few extra steps, including an 8 hour class, and special application. I moved here in 2003, from NYC and saw my neighbor going upstairs with gun secured and visible at his back. Thought he must be a cop. Then found out he wasn't, just a gun owner who carries and must therefore have it displayed. Not concealed (unless those extra steps were taken).
So if you carry, it tends to be open. But I don't see it much, feel uncomfortable when I do.
I agree that we should leave the store and tell manager why.
Walmart is now prohibiting guns carried in their stores. Good for them!
Not a Walmart shopper much. They are also limiting ammo sales. Better late than never.
I remember when president Obama took office, a number of local Yahoo's mentioned going very early to Walmart on certain days they knew bullets were being delivered, so they could get their ammo, because folks were stockpiling and ammo was first come, first served, and all sold by midday.
