In reply to the discussion: Concerning Madame Speaker and "McConnell's Graveyard" presser: [View all]ehrnst
(32,640 posts)36. Are you saying that the NC loss was because of Pelosi?
I am disappointed about yesterday's results from NC when it looked like Democrats were going to gain ground in that state. Was it expected that republicans would cheat? of course it was, then what was done? I know this is at a state level, but Pelosi needs to put the efforts to protect the votes at a National level and I don't see that happening.
What? Is that her job now too? Since when? Did the DCCC cease to exist since last week?
Actions speak louder, what she said at the press conference spoke louder than a jacket, but impeachment should be the number one priority, imagine the damage this administration will do in 16 months.
Please do tell us what impeachment will prevent him from doing. Tweeting? Replacing crappy appointees with even crappier ones? Telling the weather service what to do? I'm interested in your answer, because no one else has been able to answer it for me. And can you tell me what will prevent him from going off the deep end if impeachment hearings are held? Reichstag Fire or military action that he thinks will distract the populace replicate 9/11 and get the country behind him? Ramp up his followers so more of them start opening fire at the border?
from what I read, and see it is frustrating to me the lack of action on impeachment and the lack of action in protecting the electoral process.
I guess if one doesn't want to see something, one won't... Or perhaps you're confusing Speaker Pelosi with Mitch McConnell:
House Democrats are keeping the pressure on Mitch McConnell over election security
The majority leader might be stonewalling bills in the Senate, but Democrats arent letting up.

Pelosi distributes memo on defending national security ahead of Mueller hearing
Ahead of former special counsel Robert Mueller's testimony to Congress on Wednesday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has distributed a 6-page memo to House Democrats telling them to "fight for our national security" by safeguarding the U.S. election process.

I guess election security won't work unless there are impeachment hearings?

She did make a decision to wear it to the presser, and she knows the importance of visuals.

What will that do to address the issue of McConnell not bringing bills to the floor for a vote?
