(15,374 posts)By pointing out in a letter to the editor that one of my senators from Oklahoma (Nickels) had wrongly blamed Ruby Ridge on Clinton. RR happened in 1992, even before Clinton was elected let alone assume the office. I got a care package in the mail from them - their newsletter (White Aryan Resistance - WAR), some flyers telling me that the most endangered species on the planet were white women, and some disturbing decals including one of a Black man on his knees with guns pointed to his head with a White woman holding a Black baby in a similar position behind him. They had written some notes in the margins of the newsletter, calling me names, etc. I laughed because I had done my senior research project in high school on the upswing in White supremacy groups and remembered them as essentially being a bunch of Bubbas who would go out to the woods to drink, shoot their empties, and fantasize about a race war, which they would jump in on the coattails of after the shooting had died down (if their side won).
That's what most of these Civil War people are. Unfortunately, there will be some loonies that will try or will shoot up another Walmart, and they will be taken down, and the vast majority of the Civil War idiots (as well as a lot of the loonies) will see that they're not going to have law enforcement on their side, and even more perplexing to them, the military won't have deserted their posts in order to surround the White House to prevent Trump from being forced to leave. They will all find an excuse not to mobilize, and then blame their fellow nutjobs for not doing so.
