In reply to the discussion: Trump says he's becoming victim of a 'coup' [View all]Newest Reality
(12,712 posts)Okay, we know that Trump has betrayed the country and does not respect his oath to the office. We know that he is a rather pathological liar and will stoop to anything to get what he wants or thinks he deserves. We have the knowledge of his interactions with Putin. We see his admiration for authoritarian leaders and even some jealousy.
I won't go into other factors that support this observation, but we also know that he very often accuses others of what he is doing. This has happened frequently. When he says coup, I am taking that as more than a deflective ploy in regards to the impeachment proceedings.
That got me thinking. Are we witnessing a slow-motion, bloodless coup of our government here? Would that sound too outlandish, all things considered. They have happened in several countries, but they are usually by the military and can even be bloody. Our resident salesman could retain power by breaching the Constitution and machinating said coup. We are just getting a Reality TV, American version, perhaps?
I am not a sensationalist person nor am I a conspiracy buff. This is just starting to look more dark and sour than I thought. If one was to ask if he has incentive to pull one off, well, certainly. Could he do it? Well, look at the situation right now and his MisAdminstration's reactions to the House.
