7. We, well Democrats doing the impeachment, need to be wary of fake evidence.

Especially if its too good to be true.
Rather and the truth, got a rough ride back then not because what he reported on was false, that W went awol, but that the report was not the original copy, and so the possibility that it could have been doctored, made it moot. This after Dan swore by it. So he had to pay the price.

I can totally see the GOP covertly getting some salacious 'smoking gun' transcript or notes they themselves made up into the hands of Schiff without giving away that it came from them. And as soon as Schiff or others in the Democratic party, start using it as part of their evidence, it is revealed as some fake document. Then the 24/7 Fox News onslaught how this proves its all a deep state run Democratic coup. Giving Senate Republicans the excuse to dismiss the case outright. And gives them great ammunition in the next election as well.
