for use as a Winter White House. Oh the irony! NPS returned it to the trust because it was too expensive to keep it up. Congre An act of Congress in 1981 made it official.
It has 85 bedroomswso it could be a place that members could use to host guests or if a president were in residence, for hosting dignitaries. (like the big dog from China with the perfect chocolate cake)
