That's possibly because my great grandmas would hit me hard if I did. Occasionally so would my mom and her parents.

Yep, got it. Cussing is bad, worse than hitting a child. But I knew that was bullshit even then. I also knew there were good reasons not to cuss.

Funny thing is my grandma could say the nastiest things imaginable to people when she was angry, or even just a little annoyed. But she didn't cuss, so that was supposed to be all right?

On the few occasions I did hear my grandma cuss it was like the gates of hell opening up.

These "Million Moms" live by a perverse law, the same law that twisted Mike Pence.

Of the many things I appreciate my parents for is their intellectual approach to religion. Me and my siblings suffered church and such, but we were never trained to suffer authority without reason.
