(296 posts)not mass extinction by humans, but a mass extermination. Every polluting or insect poisoning party knows full well what it is doing. And they will keep doing it for the money and shareholders. Animal populations from insects to large mammals is down close to 50% from 40 years ago. For anyone older than 50, if they just spent time outside and paid attention, they would see with their own eyes the lack of any kind of animals.
When I was young, it was nothing to see flocks with thousands of birds in them. Many different kinds of birds too. Now, if you see 30 birds together it is something. We have been poisoning insects for decades, and with some of the new insect resistant crops, bug populations are way down. That is the bottom of the food chain for millions of other animals, and the loss of bugs is starting decimate larger animal populations.
