(33,992 posts)He has actually been pretty remarkable. He has an extremely competent director of public health - AND - he is deferring to her on all things medical.
He (and his willingness to follow the lead of Dr. Acton) is the reason the schools were closed as soon as there were any cases in Ohio. He declared a state of emergency immediately to access funding for the state. Today (day 2 after cases in Ohio) he ordered restrictions on nursing home visits to prevent a disaster like Washington - and a ban on large gatherings.
As to the 4 cases, they quarantined them & families immediately (before knowing they were positive), and began contact tracing in an attempt to contain the virus.
I am NOT a fan of DeWine, but he has my respect for how he is handling this.
