18. Normally I'd say no, especially under these circumstances.

But my mother passed away on January 6th, and I never got the alone time that I desperately craved following her passing.

The 10 says I took off were spent making cremation and funeral arrangements, plus visiting with family members that flew in for the service. Then it was back to work. It needed to be done, as I was her only child, but it was brutal. I even had to pick up my mother's ashes from the crematorium. You try driving 40 minutes with your mother's urn in the driver's seat. I never cried so much in my life.

2+ weeks of isolation? Sign me up.
