Someone told me that SOS Pate said something about mailing out ballots, but this person said Pate sounded kind of sketchy.

The early voting period doesn't start until April 23rd. We were a bit puzzled how the SOS's office would determine someone's party affiliation especially when you can declare being a Democrat to the poll workers and vote in the primary. If Pate sent ballots out to everyone and expected the Republicans to play nice and be honest I would have some real problems with that as I think most would.

BTW - I think whichever candidate comes in 2nd this time would be a prime candidate to take on Grassley in 2022 when Grassley will be 89 years old. I think Franken in particular could give Grassley a real battle after 2 years of going around the state getting name recognition.
