10. I got the typhoid vaccine when I was ordered to Germany in 1989.

It hurt like Hell for a couple of hours, but otherwise, no big deal. (I'm sure there are anti-vaxxers out there who can come up with a rationale for why it's better to be dead from typhoid than for your arm to ache for a few hours...)

The plague vaccine, against Yersinia pestis, was a dismal failure. Lots and lots of side effects, and it wasn't terribly good at preventing plague. I'm glad I didn't need to get it.
