(5,165 posts)Have only left the house 3 times since March 9 - to the druggist and a grocery stop. I miss Sunday mass and seeing life beyond my vistas.
Daughter brings me some fresh food once or twice a week, and the pantry and freezer have stocked well enough.
Haven't seen adult son for at least a month; his work involves public contact and he was feeling rather poorly for about 2 weeks.
It wouldn't surprise me if he had the virus, but the urgent care he visited said his symptoms weren't bad enough for him to be tested.
Another daughter lives in a long-term care facility and, of course, they're in lock-down , so I can't see her. She's very emotionally needy and my life mission at this age is to give her psychological support and get her to appropriate doctors, and defend her as necessary. At this time our only visits are by phone. Her facility is planning a Zoom connection once per week; I'll need other daughter's help with that, as my desk-top doesn't have camera or microphone.
I have several "underlying conditions", as they say, and probably wouldn't survive, if they even felt I was worth saving due to age. Live on my own, and enjoy watching wildlife in my back yard, reading news and stuff on computer, and watching TV. Sleep late and get up late. Very little social interaction besides family. I hadn't planned on dying in pain & suffering, struggling to breathe. Had hoped to just fade away some time in the future.
