I know I could never do what she does. I'm not sure I could even be a volunteer like you. My mom was in a nursing home for years starting when I was young and watched and was with her when she died of pneumonia. All that has made it difficult for me to even go to hospitals to visit friends.

Therapy dogs are awesome and I'm sure the nurses appreciate that time.

I'm not sure how any of us are going to be when this is all over.

Still, I am hopeful. I keep remembering a quote from Samwise in "The Two Towers."

"How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer."
