6. i do feel pity for him. also contempt and resentment.

he's a guy who was born into everything and has had things in his life most of us can only fantasize about.

yet he's incapable of enjoying it because he's incapable of loving or of feeling loved, he's incapable of feeling satisfied and content and appreciative of all his has, he's incapable of happiness.

there's a hole his his heart that will never be filled.

and that's pitiable.


now, the way he compensates for this, with anger and greed and attacking others and so on, well, that's contemptible and i have no sympathy for the choices he's made and the actions he's taken and the things he's said.

but i do feel sorry for him.

and as eliot noted above, i too reserve my real anger and contempt for the supposedly *not* mentally ill people who support and enable him. they're the ones who should know better and be able to do better.


i have a brother who has a laundry list of mental illnesses, so maybe i have a different perspective from most....
