Yes, I think you're right. It takes a definite amount of skill to 'mentally stack' things you'd like to say/ask after someone finishes speaking. The person who (IMO) excells at this is Chuck Rosenberg, especially when he's on a discussion panel. I've seen him systematically reply to several people, or comment on things they'd brought up - even though he'd been sitting quietly listening to everyone for 5 minutes or more.
Simply amazing.

Within the last 5 years or so, a person being interviewed actually asked the host to stop interrupting them - can't recall who either person was, but the host shot back with something like "It's my show and I'll talk when I want to."
