These murders and the ruination of a 17 year old are the direct fault of Trump and his nasty cabal [View all]

As Kyle Rittenhouse is charged with first degree intentional homicide after shooting three people during the Black Lives Matter Jacob Blake shooting protests I blame Trump. This is the absolute direct result of the policies of hate and division coming out of the White House. Rittenhouse is the archetypal MAGA. Loves Blue Lives Matter, having for too many guns for anyone, never mind a teenager, goes to MAGA rallies, and responds to the demands of his commander in chief to ‘take back their white streets from the nasty black folks’. He hears the dog whistles and responds faithfully to the orders of the supremacist in principal.

That a teenager is on the streets with a gun, bragging about being a vigilante, is even a thing is shocking and this is what Trumps America has done. This conduct has been normalised to such an extent that police were thanking him for coming out rather than asking why the fuck he was roaming about with a rifle? It beggar’s belief. Two people are dead because of the casual approach of the authorities’ attitude to MAGA cult members who wave their guns around. In direct contrast of course to how they police POC – which is all of the ironies in the context of the protests.

This 17 year old took two lives based on the commands of the cult leadership as they stoke a race war. Two families are devastated today at the loss of their loved ones and one mother has questions to ask herself about how she raised her son in Trumps America in such a way that he thought it OK to gun down peaceful protesters in a place and time that had fuck all to do with him.

This 17 year old will be tried as an adult and if found guilty will probably not leave prison until old age. His MAGA hat will have lost its sheen long before that. He believed the hype and followed instructions and now so many lives are ruined.

This is Trumps America and this is Trumps fault.

P.S. As an aside – what kind of community lets people have guns before they stop getting pimples? Teenagers are not known for their good judgement. They are not supposed to be the most rational decision makers, but they are allowed to own guns… that makes no sense to a Brit like me.
