I think they knew before the debate. They showed up “too late” to be tested.
They could not care less if they exposed Biden. They hoped Trump would remain asymptomatic, and they wouldn’t have to tell anyone. Javanka refusing to wear a mask? Well, they knew they had been exposed, and if Biden happened to get infected? Oh well...

I’m not usually a conspiracy theorist, but I have the dreaded feeling that this is likely what took place.
