They perceive Trump as a rich, successful guy. And associate with him solely for that reason. They pay no attention to politics, and theirs is not necessarily the life of reflection and honor.

That being said, there is a difference, a major difference, between art and the artist, and sometimes it's impossible for us to know which is the prevailing trait.
