But like most of us here, I look at that red bloc and I marvel at it. As I posted last night, the vile creature and his minions provide a "save haven" for the vile among us - facsists, racists, misogynists, homophobes, anti-Semites, Islamophobes, anti-choice, anti-immigrant, anti-alliances, anti-allies, uneducated, anti-intellectuals, anti-science, and so many more. For generations these deplorables stayed under their rocks, in their caves, in their basement, and in dark corners of the internet. For four years they have had permission to roam freely, in the process becoming members of a death cult.
If we win but don't gain a Senate majority, all bets are off for the next four years (I think). Though it would take only one or two to "defect," and of course we would have the VP breaking ties. So there's that.
BTW, about that red bloc - the problem is the Electoral College, which is really all that matters. But the fact is that Joe, like Hillary before him, have the majority of the popular vote, and while those voters predominate in blue states, the fact is that there are Dems all over the place. We are not red vs. blue (or blue vs. gray), and I think a popular vote map would show that, though it's largely irrelevant in choosing a president. Thus, the EC must go.
As for breaking up - what makes us think that we are exempt from political, social, moral and economic upheaval that has resulted in revised borders?
