(8,200 posts)I believe that there is major culprit that is destroying the unity of the nation. I don't mean to trivialize the numerous challenges. What has been taking place since Reagan's decision to remove the fairness doctrine is the major source of the division that has taken place. Hate radio is solely the creation of the radical Republicans who have run the most successful propaganda program in turning over 40% of citizens into rabid mindless haters since the Nazis who eventually brought their nation it total disaster.
It is not two sided as is often portrayed by the major news media. It is predominately one sided with virtually no counter attacks by the Democrats. Firstly it must be remembered that the airwaves are the property of the people and are licensed under the condition that they provide benefit to the public. If people want sanity to be restored then they should demand in the courts that this basic requirement must be fulfilled to retain the license. Barrage them with suits until they either reform or are bankrupt. I have spoken to two lawyers who say that it has possibilities. The major obstacle is funding. This could be overcome quickly if concerned citizens funded the challenge. We should also demand that Democrats in Congress work toward reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine
