(856 posts)I admire them for their courage. They're never going to eat in the Republican mess hall again, & that was one lucrative life. They are people with some principles. They don't agree with a lot of ours but they can be worked with. It's good to know.
I'm with Charles Pierce on their effectiveness. 0 in moving Republicans - a lot more people voted for Mr Trump this time than 2016 & with a lot less reason to do so. Maybe good at rattling some of the campaign honchos & knocking them & the Trump inner circle off their game a little - hard to tell.
This needs to be studied very carefully & debated. I'm thinking the ads were even counterproductive - nearly half the electorate sees the garbage Mr Trump & his regime do, & they like it. The ads just reinforce it for them. How do you run a negative ad campaign against a candidate whose every failing makes him/her more attractive to delusional voters? I think that some of these effectiveness questions can be quantified.
