3rd hand- I am 56 years old. I knew all of my grandparents, and many of my greats well; Growing up, we had a picture of my great-something or other (there are still folks in the family named after him) that was captured. My grandparents had a sword on the wall in the den.
These new toe-licker Republicans would love being called that. They have no goddamned idea that an entire portion of the country was burnt down. They are stupid fuckwits that failed history.
That moniker excites the rednecks- they love it.
