(3,013 posts)...when we get power, we don't wield it well. Until we push through substantive changes as proposed by Moostache, and the people can see the good it does, the great DC stall by Repubs can continue with all too much public support. LBJ was certainly not our best President, but he knew how to play power politics and I just don't see that coming from Schumer or Pelosi. I think Nancy has done a great job and maintained a cool head through a very long dark storm but someone harder edged is needed and we certainly need the Senate and probably a greater majority in the House. And all this is even harder when even with record voter turnout and such a stark contrast between candidates, there were still some 60+ million eligible Americans so disengaged from the process that they didn't vote.
