I got to see them perform not once but twice at the Hollywood Bowl. One of the nights we had front row seats, and when they did the Bruces Philosophers Song, Michael Palin threw cans of Fosters Lager into the audience, and I managed to catch one! Still have the stupid thing to this day. Those 'concerts' were so fun.
Many years later, John Cleese was visiting my workplace while he was promo-ing his Fierce Creatures film. When I heard he was there I went over really just to catch a glimpse of him, but ended up getting a hug!! I told him about being at the Bowl and he laughed and said "We were all much younger then". A friend snapped a photo of the hug and I have it but can't find it! One of those "I'll put it in a safe place" things....argh!
Still a die-hard fan. Look at these old geezers.....
