but after all of the other messes going on it has been easily overlooked.

I believe Donnie was "comfortable" because he knew the "fix was in - NO WAY could he lose." When he did lose I believe that HE BELIEVES that somebody cheated more than he did! And THAT is what really pushed him over the edge!
