15. About 8 years ago I received an urgent voicemail from my credit union

while I was on vacation. After I got back home a few days later and I verified in person with my credit union and they told me that it was a phishing scam.

I'm always suspicious when it comes to anything that sounds urgent and that needs to be addressed right now. I'm glad that you checked with them to verify.
