25. Yeah, I went looking for it too. Most of the print media from that time isn't online.

I guess we can't expect everything to be archived electronically, and I know those papers went out with the recycling LONG ago (or might be in the basement with Christmas ornaments in them). But I can tell you I've known a lot of people who've been fucked over this way. Perhaps the laws have changed (or been enforced), but there's at least a current trend toward the 29 1/2 hour work week.

The Internet used to be simple. You would type in a search term and get relevant hits. Now it's polluted with ads, blogs, and irrelevant bullshit. When I see "page one of 1,400,927", I know I didn't get the term right. Even my most narrow search came up with 57 million hits. It's a needle in a haystack problem and I'M A FUCKING COMPUTER GEEK! I'm still damn good at finding things, but when you have common terms it becomes a nightmare.

To be honest, I don't know if they're still doing that and haven't seen anything on it recently. Nobody I know now would ever work at WalMart now, other than my friend who still does. I haven't spoken with him for at least five years so maybe they abandoned the practice. Once upon a time, in a Galaxy far, far away, it used to be considered a reputable company. Remember "Bring It Home To The USA!" or "Look For The Union Label"? Those days are gone.

Sorry I couldn't come up with the a link, but I know they did this. My memory for what happened is excellent, but when it comes to details I'm usually in a position of looking them up. I just can't find any now. And no, I'm not calling "conspiracy" here. I just haven't found it. Given the current amount of information on the Internet, I could probably write a search program that would locate something by 5319 (by which point, if we're still around, WalMart will be the only retailer out there).
