Benedict Arnold was a skilled officer who fought courageously against the British until he was seriously wounded and later passed over for promotion. After he suffered various other setbacks, including a court-martial and serious financial losses, he went over to the other side. His treason ultimately arose from his thwarted ambition and a sense of grievance - in other words, a shitty personality. While this also describes Graham, Cruz, et al., it doesn't take into consideration the magnitude of their support of sedition. I'd argue that Quisling is a better analogy - Quisling collaborated with an enemy in order to actively assist them in the takeover of his country. Isn't that what the Trump collaborators tried to do?
