about the ACLU anyway. The day after the 2016 election I wrote a big (big for me, anyway) check to the ACLU, knowing that we'd be needing them more than ever with THAT GUY in office. We were correct about that, weren't we? I still donate when I can. They'll get a chunk of my COVID relief check, if I ever get it.
Like you, my best fighting days are behind me. Coming of age in the 60s was one helluva education though, so finding ways to get into "Good Trouble" these days is getting tougher, but I'll never stop trying. The day I stop fighting is the day they shove my fat ass in the cremation oven. I've made peace with that, though, and when I look at my grandchildren I realize I can never let the bastards get me down. Sometimes it seems like the fight is the only thing that keeps me going.
Hang in there. We all have bad days, and then there are the worse days, but I've yet to have the WORST day. That day will be the end of me, for sure. Until that day, keep swinging, whatever form that "swing" takes in our advanced years. There's a whole new crop of young people ready to pick up the fight, and there's more now than ever. I have faith for the future, I really do.
