Prior to the verdict, he is considered innocent, and therefore prior bad acts cannot be part of the prosecution. Now that he has been found guilty, his past reprimands can establish a long standing problem that should influence his sentence.
Honestly, I wonder if he would have been better off if he had been just tried before a judge, instead of a jury.
