and cops are not always known for hitting their targets.

A Taser dart doesnt deploy nearly as fast as a bullet. The likely result is a stabbed girl.

Bullets are much, much faster and more accurate. Tasers are not accurate beyond about 10 feet. n/t

Assuming the officer had a taser, a taser can't shoot its target nearly as quickly as a gun can.
