as the First Amendment. The US government could try an expropriate the cable and satellite systems, but that would be struck down as an illegal taking.
America is called the grand experiment in democracy. Experiments often end in disaster. I personally think there are too many long-wave flaws in The Constitution for the Union to remain stable for more than 20, 30 years or so going forward. The Electoral College and the very nature of the Senate both invite minority tyranny over the majority. The Retugs have gamed the system of federalism, plus its associated state and local power structures for decades. It is too hard to amend the Constitution now with hyper partisanship at the fore.
