If you have a moment, please tell me about the cut stones on the island. Are you referring to Stonehenge or Easter Island? Those are fascinating subjects for study.
When I was a kid, 50 years ago, I remember reading that before Ben Franklins time, one person could read all the books extant in his or her lifetime. Today, a human lifespan is insufficient time to read all that is published in just one academic subject.
Which raises the point about Artificial Intelligence and its ability to tie all that knowledge together. Such an entity might consider humanity a dangerous threat. I doubt that AI would hesitate to pull the plug on us.
Regarding UFOs: The phenomenon seems to have adapted over time, perhaps making itself appear to us in technology the people of the time could better relate with, if not understand. In modern times, people report encounters with objects that remind some of advanced technologies needed for interstellar spacecraft. In the 1890s, people reported encounters with airships, a dirigible like flying machine. Centuries earlier, people reported what appeared like sailing ships which flew down from the clouds.
