It turns off the Democratic base, I dont care what anyone says, you need your base to win....it doesnt help her with Republicans, the people that are left in that party are right wingers and they arent voting for anyone with a D in front of their names, and the few moderates you do win over arent enough when your base stays home and the Republicans come out in droves to stick it to Biden...and moderates like to see tangible results, so if they see that Democrats were supposedly in charge and nothing has happened to improve their lives, then telling them that you preserved a Senate tradition isnt a winning message
