(15,134 posts)61. Being adamant that "you saw what you saw" is a terrible attitude...
...not a brave stand against those bad, bad skeptical meanies.
Either seeing things that aren't there, or badly interpreting something that was "real" to some extent (actually produced light, sound, etc) is something that can happen to any human being, and it doesn't make you stupid or crazy.
What isn't so smart, however, is being adamantly certain of interpretations like alien spacecraft. Direct personal experience is not the be-all and end-all of truth. When you look at the issue on a broader scale, intelligent life visiting us from other planets just doesn't rank as a very plausible explanation, no matter how compelling to oneself one's own experiences feel.
