After Trump had made the deal, the Taliban took it seriously and started brokering surrenders. This changed the dynamic, and Biden was left with little choice but cut his loses. What are you going to do after the Taliban had for months been changing the dynamic? To me it would seem either back out of the agreement which would have meant a fight, or cut the loses and get out.

I think sticking with an idea of emboldening the Afghan Government instead of the Taliban would have been a better choice for getting out. That way the Afghan forces wouldn't have been pre surrendered to the Taliban. That's my opinion.
