And very few have it. I would suggest that perhaps Lincoln had it. I don't know anyone in my lifetime, however, who seemed to be able to leave his ego behind and do what he saw was the right thing regardless of personal consequences, to make the resolution somehow more tolerable to all parties. I'm not saying he has no foibles, as we all do, but in his job, he is superb.
