7. There is so much information out there - sometimes it's easier to just pick and choose

what you want to believe than to actually think about it and try to make an intelligent informed decision.

Naturally every decision is tainted with personal bias and subjectivity and information boundaries, but for christs sake it sounds like your friend is in serious denial.
