I heard stories of people driving back and getting stuck because they couldn't get in their neighborhood...

Add to it, possible damage to your home and you can't put a "blue tarp" up...stuff like that....

My sister now lives in a senior high rise. Her husband died in 2013. Her home had water damage due to drainage issues, so she sold it. She moved into some apartments, but those got flooded during Harvey. So, she picked up and moved into a high rise....It isn't cheap though...
